CEM is the Centre for Evaluation & Monitoring at the School of Education, Durham University. Used by education professionals for over 30 years in over 70 countries, CEM is one of the largest and longest established research groups providing learning assessment for children of all ages. CEM's methods are research-based, evidence driven and market-tested, built on a foundation of non-commercial academic practice. This book contains 6 assessment tests offering a wide variety of CEM practice questions. The tests offer structured practice in the Verbal Reasoning and English elements of the exam and the well structured marking scheme allows parents to easily spot the areas that a child finds difficult and where additional practice may be required. Working through these tests will provide children with experience of formal testing while at the same time helping them to become more familiar with various types of verbal reasoning question. This is an excellent aid in preparing children for their 11+ examinations and can also be used in preparing children for grammar school, independent and private school selection tests.
