Many people have searched for the Lost City of Atlantis. Does it really exist, or is it just a myth? Are any other stories of sunken cities based on facts? And how many other ruined cities are still buried beneath the waves, waiting to be discovered? White Plus/Band 10+ books provide challenging plots and vocabulary as well as opportunities to practise inference, prediction and reading stamina. Pages 46 and 47 allow children to re-visit the content of the book, supporting comprehension skills, vocabulary development and recall. Ideas for reading in the back of the book provide practical support and stimulating activities. Abbie Rushton has heard lots of stories about Atlantis and had often wondered if it was a real place. She genuinely didn't know the answer so she loved researching this book to see if she could find out! She was thrilled that she could share some information about Dunwich as she's been fascinated since she visited as a child. She doesn't live far from Dunwich now and still enjoy visiting the beach and the last grave on the clifftop.
